THE ALCHEMY OF HOMEOPATHY

April is here and with it the Month of Homeopathy*. What a great opportunity to reflect briefly on Spirit and Alchemy!

In the material world in which we live and from which “science” seems too often derived, scientific materialism is the belief that physical reality, as made available to the natural sciences, is all that truly exists. “True knowledge” must be based on this paradigm of scientific inquiry. This could be one of the main causes of our suffering as a society or as a species, and why we have lost our way. We are “dis-connected”. We have lost our connection to the Spirit World, I want to add…to the Truth, from which our Sacred life originates. Have you ever wondered what animates that physical reality? Would you agree that all life is animated by a universal energy that inhabits every living creature? It is interesting to note that the word spirit comes from the latin word spiritus, meaning”breath”. The breath is the impulse, the contraction and expansion, the rhythm that creates and re-creates itself in all expression of life. We are energy! Everything is energy, and our body and the earth, both, are 60 to 80 % water. Not only does water conduct energy, but it also holds memory (see the inspirational film of the month posted below). It has a structure, a resonance and an imprint, that can remember the essence and medicinal properties as it does in homeopathic remedies ( and, as you will see in the film below, of music and of our intentions or prayers). This may be of the most important discovery of our time… or did we forget?

In his book “The Quantum Doctor, A Quantum Physicist Explains The Healing Power Of Integral Medicine”, Dr Amit Goswani PhD, writes: “From the vital perspective, the immune system is a physical representation of the vital blueprint for defending the body against external or internal antigens. A disease means that the physical representation, in its current form, is not working properly. It makes sense that this malfunction may be due to the malfunction of the vital blueprint (an imbalance of the relevant movements of vital energies) itself. If that is so, we have to infuse the proper vital energy to fix the vital blueprint in the system to affect a cure”. Actually, the Law of Similars was previously described by Paracelsus and Hippocrates:

“Through the like, disease is produced, and through the application of the like, disease is cured”.

All over the planet the Law of Similars has been used by ancient traditions including the Mayans, Greek, Chinese, Indians and Native American Indigenous people. However Samuel Hahnemann through his numerous translations, intense research and experiments succeeded to codify the Law of Similars into a systematic medical science.

Hanhemann wrote: “So, it is the totality of symptoms, the outer image expressing the inner essence of the disease, i.e., of the disturbed vital force, that must be the main, even the only, means by which the disease allows us to find the necessary remedy, the only one that can decide the appropriate choice”. This means that symptoms are the voices of the body to which we need to listen. By listening, one can reveal the imbalances and offer the remedy or treatment with the proper vital quintessence or resonance, that will ignite the body’s natural Wisdom in correcting the root of the dis-ease.

I see Homeopathy as one of the expressions of the Alchemy of Spirit! Spirit is in everything, the visible and the invisible. It is the Expression manifested of the Super Organism or Great Mystery that is Creating and re-Creating our Cosmos, Universe, Earth and Physical body. Spirit is the Essence that permeates all life, in its individuality and in its wholeness!

And then… there is the Alchemy! As everything has a resonance and a vibration, the Alchemy is the slow and evolving process of capturing and revealing this essence. From a philosophical point of view, it can be the result of the Art Of Transmutation of the Self which is like the rose blossoming fully to open its petals and finally showing its true essence, after years of growth from a seed to its full potential. If alchemy is the art of transmutation of energies than this explains in part how homeopathy is a system that aims to understand and capture the essence of a dis-ease, to be matched to the similar medicinal essence of a substance whether it is from a plant, a mineral or other.  By encouraging and supporting the human organism and its vital force, it can eventually enhance the transmutation of the self!
