A Woman’s Guide to Self Empowerment – October 2015

“Inside is made of outside. When we touch our skin, we touch the water, heat, air, and earth that is within us.”

~ Thich Nhat Hanh

In Canada, breast cancer is the most common cancer among women. Sadly, over one in nine of us will be diagnosed with it in our lifetime. What are the emerging risk factors and how can we lower these risks? This experiential and holistically-orientated course – delivered in a small, intimate and supportive group setting – aims at encouraging women’s self-empowerment toward health and provides proactive initiatives in the prevention of breast cancer. The ultimate goal is to assist you with acquiring and developing the necessary tools and confidence to take your health into your own hands.

While examining our deeper connections to our inner and outer environments, we will familiarize ourselves with the basic foundations of health including:

  • the equilibrium of the body’s own internal systems
  • dietary and nutritional influences
  • toxic exposure and its prevention and detoxification
  • stress and the mind-body connection

This workshop, either the introduction one (3 hours), or the seasonal one ( Friday night, Saturday and Sunday) when appropriate, will also provide healthy, organic vegetarian snacks, and meals – prepared in accordance with each season and drawing upon the time-honored practices of Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine.

Be prepared to learn about and experience a variety of healing modalities such as naturopathic medicine, kundalini yoga and mindfulness practices, in the support of optimal functioning of our whole organism.
